It all started out with a normal visit to the OB/GYN. I had never gone to this particular hospital, so I knew that sooner or later I would have to make a visit to the hospital. I was secluded to work the evening of the 17th. I though that I could make it back to work after the appointment, it was at 11:00 and I start work at 15oo (that is 3:00 pm), so I had plenty of time, or so I though. The Doctor came in and asked the usual questions, how are you feeling? Has the baby been kicking? So then the Doc checks to see how much of dilation has occurred, "A three + or 4." He said, "I will call labor and delivery and let them know that you are coming." Wow, we thought that we might have a baby today. Sara wouldn't mind, she was getting ever bigger and more uncomfortable each moment. The Doc told us that Sara would need to do some walking to see if that would help her to progress in dilation, so we made the trek from the OB/GYN on the ground floor of the medical mall to the labor and delivery section on the third floor of the adjacent hospital, man what I hick! We signed in to the desk at labor and delivery and made our way to the waiting room that we would frequent throughout the day and into the night. With in about 10 min the nurse came and brought us back to a bed and hooked Sara up to that machine that listens for the babies hart beat and checks for contractions. At one time the nurse could not find the hart beat of the baby and went and get the ultra sound machine, still could not find the heart beat, after a couple of silent prayers of faith and the word of the nurse "Guys this in not good" we had a strong heart beat. Man what turn over rate in that section. We had to say there for about two hours before they could check Sara again. With in that two hours we heard 4 couples come and go, most of them were first time mothers and like 36 week along. Sara being a veteran of this computer speaker beeping, bed creaking, fake labor pain making room, this being her 4th child. Knowing that if you are not in active labor they will just send you home. So the two hours came and went, the Doc finally come, the check was made and I don't know how you can digress in dilation, but She said that Sara was only barely a 3. The Doc said that you have two options, "You can go HOME, or you can GO WALKING, to see if any other changes happen." What do you think we did, "We walked, and walked, and walked, a..n..d WALKED." We also went and go some food at the Panda Express. We went home, feed the children and Grandma, then we started our trek back to the hospital, oh ya, you should have seen Sara at the Panda Express walking around the tables, with the expressions of a MAD (crazy) person, pacing back and forth. We went back to the hospital and well the gate was closed, "how are going to get back" we thought to ourselves. Well lets follow the rest of the people and see how they are going to get into the hospital. We had to get back on to I-5 (Interstate 5) a parking lot at this time. We finally made it to the next exit and had to back track 6 miles to get back to the hospital, and we had to park in EYGPT. We finely made the exodus from the car to the front door of the hospital, then to the elevator, third floor down the hall, through the door, passed the guard, signed in at the desk and back to the waiting room. In about 10 min the same nurse came, brought us to a different bed, same machine, same out come, no progress, and they sent us walking again! So we walked again, and walked and walked and walked. Then Sara came up with a great idea, let go up the stairs. I am sure that the words "I am gun’ a have this baby, I am gun ‘a have this baby" went though Sara's mind like a train on a one way track. Ya we did this for 9 (NINE) flights of stairs. Then we went out side to walk some more. Now Sara was getting tired and worn out, almost getting to the point of giving up and going home. We went back to the same desk to check in and went back to the same waiting room to wait and in about 10 mins, the same nurse came back to take us to another different bed. I guess that we were the frequent fliers of that day. They did not hook Sara up to the machine, but just came in and checked, some out come. I will never forget the look on Sara's face, it was like her heart was broken and a look of utter exhaustion. They let us sit there for a while and a different Doc came in to talk is into going home, I think. He asked Sara what she would like to do, She looked at me and seamed to gather some strength and gave him a peace of her mind. The Doc's called a counsel and the vatic was out, they decided to keep us and help things along. I failed to tell you that thought out this whole time Sara was having 30 second contractions every 10 mins, yes even up and down the stairs. They moved us to the birthing room, Wow, what a room, hard wood floors, oak furniture, wall paper, and refrigerator. Sara now regained her composure, ready to have a baby. From the time the counsel was called and decided to keep us, Tori Elizabeth Stamm was born five hours latter. The Doc was flabbergasted only 5 hours. They did it a little differentially this time, usually they break her water and then give her patosen as a last resort, but instead they gave her patosen first and let her water break naturally. Much better this way Sara went to the store yesterday only two days after giving birth of Tori. It was like clock work, got the iv, patosen, antibiotics, and pain killer and the baby was crowning. Sara did a great job only about 20 mins of pushing. Tori Elizabeth was born at 0235 hrs on the 18th. 7 lbs 5 oz 20" long.
Both Mom and Baby are doing very well.

Congratulations! She's very cute. Lots of black hair! Wow! Glad everyone's doing well.
LOOKS LIKE HER DAD, YOU ALL DID A GOOD JOB. GLAD THE KIDS LOVE THEIR NEW SISTER
Who's that other kid on you?!
The funny thing is, I could see Sara doing all those things. Walking 9 flight of stairs reminds me of the time, you guys walked all over Tokyo with this crazy kid. And then walking back home at 3 AM!! But I guess, being pregnant AND walking 9 flight of stairs trumps that one...
Aaah memories... Thanks for the update!
Stacey looks like Sara.
I can't believe you didn't go with tradition of naming your newest with an S!!
But nonetheless, I'm happy to hear that all is well with you guys. I still remember when Stacey was born. Wow. I'm old.
